This faculty covers the learning most people actually need day to day: stronger English for work and study, preparation practice for common tests, road sense, money and employability skills, digital safety, and helping children with schoolwork. Every course is written by Mai Studies. None of these courses are official examination materials, and none carry exam credit, exemptions or accreditation.

Curriculum pathway

Three levels, each with its own aim, entry expectations and assessed outcomes.

Level 1 Foundation

Typically 6 weeks

Build the everyday reading, writing and reasoning habits the rest of the pathway depends on.

Read and understand everyday texts
Write clear short messages and forms
Follow structured practice tests

Life in the UK: Citizenship Study Support

Original study notes and practice questions on UK history, government, law and everyday life.

Original practice on road rules, signs, safety and hazard awareness for learner drivers.

Level 2 Practitioner

Typically 8 weeks

Apply the skills under timed, test-style conditions and in real work and family situations.

Assessed outcomes

Answer test-style questions under time
Write structured letters, reports and essays
Explain decisions and rules in your own words

Entry expectations

Comfortable reading and writing simple English.

Strengthen reading, writing, listening and speaking with original IELTS-style practice tasks and feedback criteria.

Reach a confident independent standard and help others learn.

Produce extended, well-argued written work
Speak confidently on unfamiliar topics
